Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Innovare App Developers ("we", "us"), the developer of DocSensei. By downloading or using DocSensei you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Using DocSensei
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use DocSensei on Android devices you own or control, for personal or business purposes, in line with these terms and Google Play's terms. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
2. Your account
You can use DocSensei without an account. If you create one for cloud backup, keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else has used it. You're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Me → Privacy & Security → Delete Account.
3. Your documents
Your documents belong to you. We claim no ownership over anything you scan, import or create. If you use cloud backup, you allow us and our hosting provider to store and transfer your documents only to provide the backup to you.
Only scan documents you have the right to copy, and follow the law when you do. Don't use DocSensei to forge, alter or misrepresent documents, signatures or identity papers.
4. Premium and billing
- Subscriptions. Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (and, where offered, a one-time lifetime purchase) through Google Play. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and Google Play charges your payment method, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials. If you don't cancel before a free trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Google Play (profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Google Play, so refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have under consumer law.
- Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, Google Play will notify you in advance as its policies require.
- Rewarded ads. In the free version, some Premium features can be unlocked once by watching an ad. These unlocks have no cash value.
Which features are free and which need Premium may change over time. We won't remove a Premium feature you've paid for during a period you've already paid for without offering a fair alternative.
5. Signatures and legal documents
DocSensei lets you place an image of your signature, initials or text on a document. It is not a certified electronic-signature service, and it does not verify identity or create audit trails. Whether a document signed this way is legally binding depends on the document and the law where you are. If in doubt, check with the other party or a lawyer.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use DocSensei to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload malware, interfere with our services or other users, or try to get around Premium, ads or security features.
7. Third-party services
DocSensei relies on services from Google (Firebase, AdMob, Google Play, ML Kit) and RevenueCat. Your use of those parts is also subject to their terms. Ads in the free version come from third parties, and we are not responsible for what they advertise.
8. No warranty
We work hard to make DocSensei reliable, but the app is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that it will be error-free, that edge detection or text recognition will always be accurate, or that backups will never fail. Keep your own copies of important documents.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of DocSensei. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for DocSensei in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using DocSensei at any time by uninstalling it and, if you have one, deleting your account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections 3, 8, 9 and 12 continue to apply after these terms end.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using DocSensei after that, the new terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the developer is established. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
